Schedulicity

While attending some of the International Beauty Show business seminars, I heard lots of ideas about how you can grow your salon business.  Some were really good ideas and then there were the gems that I thought were great.  One idea that I could not wait to share came from Gary Ahlquist who was leading a seminar called Aggressive Marketing to Increase Business Cash Flow.  The idea was great but Gary also outlined the ‘how-to’ step by step plan for implementing the idea. 

This idea was called ‘Gift Certificate Distribution’ and I thought it was simple and brilliant.  Here are the steps:

1.      Start by brainstorming with your staff or friends to come up with the names of 20 small business owners in your area.

2.      Go to a website called paperdirect.com and download a Gift Certificate template. (Please note: I’m sure there are other sites that do this as well, this was the one that Gary mentioned.  Also, for the sake of transparency, I have no affiliation with either Gary or paperdirect.com)

3.      Create some personalized Gift Certificates with each businesses name at the top that they can give away to their clients.  That’s it.

Now think about this…. these businesses will be advertising your business and sending new clients your direction and they will look like heroes doing it.  It will cost them absolutely nothing and could bring you immediate income and new clients.
